This last minute meal is a life saver when it comes close to dinner time and you haven’t had a chance to hit the grocery store. It’s the perfect amount for feeding one person, but you can double or even triple the recipe if you have a hungry family to feed.
This tasty recipe has the perfect combination of spicy, salty, and sweet making for a flavor packed bowl of noodles. Customize the spice level to your liking or leave it out all together for those sensitive to heat. The red pepper can always be sprinkled on afterwards!
- 1 pack of instant ramen
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp of red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 egg
- sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning
Step 1 Cook and drain the ramen noodles according to the package instructions and set aside. Go ahead and toss out the seasoning packet that comes with it, or save it to season something later.
Step 2 In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the garlic and red pepper flakes for about one minute. Once the garlic starts to brown, stir in the soy sauce and brown sugar.
Step 3 Dump the cooked and drained ramen noodles into your pan and toss with the sweet and spicy garlic sauce until well coated.
Step 4 Push the noodles to one side of the pan and turn the heat up to high. Crack an egg directly into the pan and scramble until set.
Step 5 Turn the heat off and toss the scrambled egg mixture in with the sauce coated ramen noddles.
Step 6 Generously season with everything bagel spice. This seasoning choice may sound strange, but it adds just the right flavor along with a little crunch.
