Supreme Pizza Waffles will soon become your new favorite way to make pizza at home. They’re delicious, easy, and fun, and the kids will love them. Make them for sleepovers, pizza night, after school, or just because it’s Friday.

INGREDIENTS
Our version of supreme pizza waffles includes lots of toppings like mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, bell peppers, olives, red onion, pizza dough, and pizza sauce. Of course, many of these toppings are optional.
- Pizza Dough – We used canned pizza dough.
- Pizza Sauce – We chose what was on sale.
- Cheese – We chose shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Pepperoni

INSTRUCTIONS
Before starting, plug in the waffle iron and turn the dial to the medium heat setting.
Then, you’ll want to cook the Italian sausage. Remove the casing and use a spatula to break it up into small pieces.
Roll out some pizza dough and place it on the waffle iron. Tuck or cut off the excess dough.
Add the toppings to the pizza dough.
Finally, top with more pizza dough. Close the lid, and cook for 5 minutes.
Hint: We found that pressing the waffle iron lid down for the first 30 seconds helped evenly brown the pizza waffles.
VARIATIONS
From vegetarian to meat lovers, and more, there are so many different ways to switch up this recipe. Below, you’ll find some ideas to get started.
- Vegetarian – Load your waffle with sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, black olives, and diced tomatoes. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Meat-Lover’s – Add cooked and crumbled sausage, pepperoni slices, bacon bits, and sliced ham to your dough. Serve with marinara sauce.
- Mediterranean – Top your waffle with roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, Kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and feta cheese. Finish with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of oregano.
EQUIPMENT
For this recipe, you will need a waffle iron. We have a Cuisinart waffle maker that we’ve used for years, and it works great.
STORAGE
Leftover pizza waffles can be stored in an airtight, freezer-safe container for up to 4 days in the refrigerator and up to 3 months in the freezer.
TOP TIPS
- Be sure to preheat your waffle iron to medium heat before adding the pizza dough.
- Use nonstick cooking spray or brush the waffle iron with vegetable oil before adding the pizza dough.
- Don’t overload the pizza waffle with toppings.
- Cook the pizza waffles until golden brown. Cooking times will vary based on your waffle iron. Ours takes about 5 minutes.
